Hickory King White Corn

Hickory King is a historic Southern heirloom corn valued for its massive ears, wide kernels, and rich, old-fashioned corn flavor. Traditionally grown for both fresh use and milling, this variety is especially prized for cornmeal, grits, roasting ears, and livestock feed.

  • Type: Heirloom

  • Days to Maturity: ~110–120 days

  • Growth Habit: Tall field corn; stalks reach 12–14 feet

Plant Details:
Plants produce very large ears with 8–10 rows of broad, white kernels set on sturdy stalks. Known for strong growth and good drought tolerance once established.

Flavor & Use:
Sweet and hearty when harvested young as roasting ears. When fully mature, kernels are excellent for grinding into cornmeal, grits, and flour, or for drying and feed use.

Growing Tips:
Plant after danger of frost when soil has warmed. Requires full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. Plant in blocks rather than single rows to ensure good pollination. Space seeds 8–12 inches apart in rows 30–36 inches apart.

A legendary heirloom corn that delivers size, flavor, and Southern tradition in every harvest. 🌽
